Senior Engineering Associate (SE Region)

Alta Planning + Design is seeking a senior engineering professional in the field of transportation engineering for our SE region. This is a unique opportunity for an engineering professional to take a key role working on high-profile active transportation projects in the Southeast and across the US.

You’ll contribute to the production of high-quality, accurate and complete design documents, reports and analyses. You’ll solidify Alta’s reputation as a trusted advisor and expert, and be an integral part of the growth and leadership of Alta’s engineering team.

We’re seeking a professional who has knowledge of, and interest in, the field of active transportation, has a solid understanding of the engineering process, particular as it relates to transportation, and is looking for the next challenge in their career.

As a Senior Engineering Associate at Alta, you have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, although a Master’s degree is preferred. You’ve worked for at least 12 years as a transportation engineer in a consulting environment or public entity, have three (3) years of project management experience, with experience preparing plans, specifications, and estimates, as well as three (3) or more years managing staff. You will also have an in-depth knowledge of NACTO, MUTCD, ADA and various DOT design requirements, and are proficient in MS Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Synchro/SimTraffic or similar. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Professional Engineering License in multiple states.
