The National Brotherhood of Cyclists 2015 Conference

The National Brotherhood of Cyclists promotes personal health and community health benefits of cycling to communities disproportionately affected by health issues and supports athletes for the purpose of bringing more diversity to cycling. The fifth annual summit will offer real interaction between organizations and individuals connected to communities of color, women and youth to those organizations committed to Bicycle Advocacy and Active Transportation.

The NBC 2015 Conference will take place in Minneapolis this year from July 15-19. The theme of the conference will be “Equity in Motion”, where attendees will learn new thinking and new strategies for promoting a more inclusive and diverse cycling movement. Guests will be able to participate in actual community based initiatives, including:

  • Youth bike giveaway and rodeo
  • The Major Taylor – Nice Ride community collaboration
  • The Major Taylor Family Fun Ride
  • The Launch of Slow Roll Minneapolis, hosted by the co-founder of Slow Roll Detroit, Jason Hall

Our very own Steve Durrant will present on “Life in the Bike Lane: Career Paths in the Growing Bike Movement,” which will focus on increasing workforce diversity.
