Alta teamed with Kimley-Horn Associates and CivaTerra to devlop the Greenways Plan for North Indian River County, FL. This project followed the successful Central County plan developed by this team for the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization (IRCMPO). The North County plan was centered on the communities of Sebastian and Fellsmere. Important elements included connections to the East Coast Greenway, the Florida Water Trail, Florida Central Rail Trail, the Wabasso Jungle Trail and Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge, the historic first wildlife refuge established in the U.S. system. The plan identified and prioritized 10 projects for development, and IRCMPO is utilizing its Transportation Enhancements funding to advance these projects.
