Fascinated by the skeleton of a city even as a young child, I would sit in the back of the family vehicle on road trips exploring maps and atlases. Today, I find each community to be challenging and inspiring as I evaluate and experience a place by riding it, walking it, interacting with it.
With proficiency in both the public and private sectors, Don is able to translate among engineers, designers, analysts, researchers, concerned citizens and transportation planners. He believes in planning for people, and that the most successful transportation plans are informed by the people who use them. With a background in journalism, Don naturally synthesizes information from residents, municipalities, utilities, railroads, DOTs and other agencies, to develop comprehensive, multi-modal transportation plans. Don has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Journalism from Western Carolina University and a Master of Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
