Growing up in an urban environment, I used to assume ‘bike safety’ was limited to wearing a helmet and dodging car doors as they swing open in front of you. Moving to New Hampshire for college gave me a glimpse into a world where bikes, pedestrians, and cars could travel side-by-side in harmony. Once I received my degree in civil engineering, I knew I would never be satisfied until I was applying my education towards something that was meaningful to me and significant to my community. Being a member of the Alta team has allowed me to fulfill this dream.
Nicole Nazzaro joined the Alta team in 2015 to combine her experience in transportation engineering with her interest in community wellness and non-motorized urban design. With a three year background as an Airport Engineer, Nicole had opportunities to work on projects such as roadway, taxiway and apron design, storm water analysis and management design, along with pavement signing and marking design. Her aim is to actively dedicate her skills towards promoting meaningful improvements in her community.
