Alta has worked with campuses across the nation to solve mobility and transportation challenges. We provide mobility planning and design expertise to solve challenges regarding campus bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, assist with employee education and outreach programs, and designing end of trip facilities and amenities.
While bicycling has emerged at some campuses through organic means, those who have developed policies, programs, and facilities have yielded greater success in increasing bicycling rates. Alta understands that campuses require a special approach to bicycles and pedestrians that reflects the internal circulation needs and aesthetic style of the institution. Issues such as safety and accessibility, the separation of cyclists, pedestrians, and internal service vehicles, high quality and quantity of bicycle parking, policies on bicycle riding, campus bike share, and programs to encourage walking and bicycling are all integral parts of Alta’s campus bicycle and pedestrian master plans.
