Our people make the difference.

Anne Bothner-By

Anne has more than 30 years of experience in the design and production of maps, collateral, branded incentives, and long documents for the non-motorized transportation industry. She has worked on bicycle and pedestrian user maps and guides for numerous jurisdictions and takes pleasure in presenting complex, layered information in a way that is easy to understand at a glance. She is expert in Adobe Creative Suite programs and understands technical issues that are necessary to create documents that are not only beautiful, but well-built. Whether it’s a one-off infographic or a multi-volume document, Anne applies rigor and creativity to her work.

“I practically lived on my bicycle as a kid, a habit that continued through my 20s and 30s. Now I live in a rural area where bike commuting is challenging and I’m forced to rely on my car more than I ever have before, so I’m inspired to support the bicycling and walking communities in other ways. I see so much that can be done to encourage people to use alternative modes of transportation – and to reduce their impact on the earth, too. There’s no more pressing issue than reducing every human’s carbon footprint, whether it’s by bicycling instead of driving, recycling, or reducing overall consumption. Alta embodies the values of stewardship and activism that I hold near and dear to my heart, and I’m proud to be working towards making our environment more livable.”
