I love walking and biking, especially with my kids, because we experience the world around us in a much more meaningful way. I walk or bike my kids to school every day and I love that opportunity to be outside, experience our neighborhood, and get a little exercise.
Dara is an urban planner and designer who enjoys working at the intersection of the natural and built environment to create thriving, active communities. She has worked on a diverse array of planning and design projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and Detroit, all with a common thread of working to improve quality of life for the people in the communities where she works. Whether it is a community plan, a shoreline plan, or a streetscape design, Dara works to create places where people want to be. Her most recent work in Detroit focused on creating land use patterns and urban design that work to shift the Motor City away from a dependence on cars and creating stabilized neighborhoods where people want to live, work, and play. Dara is a collaborative leader with experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
