I started my career path as a 7th grader, writing letters to the editor of my hometown newspaper, advocating for an old growth forest that was threatened by a road widening project. We saved those Champion Trees, rerouted a road, and I began my career as an advocate and planner.
Laura is a planner who specializes in community and economic development. Her goal is to energize and challenge communities to evaluate their unique opportunities and contexts and then to leverage resources to become stronger, healthier, and greener. As a Complete Streets advocate, regional planner, and neighborhood organizer, Laura understands the political and physical challenges and opportunities a community faces when planning and designing places for all people.
