During my youth, I was fortunate to be able to navigate my everyday world by bicycle and on foot. That experience left a lasting impression on me and taught me early on how to interact with people and places independently. Later, I became aware of how rare that opportunity had become for others. This led me to focus my work on making communities more vibrant, active, and healthy.
Stu Sirota has spent over 30 years at the leading edge of planning principles and practices that integrate land use, transportation, and design to reduce dependence on automobiles and to create better places. He has vast experience in leading innovative projects and initiatives from concept through implementation and is a proven consensus builder and problem solver. Stu has held notable leadership roles in both private and public sector organizations, and credits his success, in part, by finding the delicate balance between innovation and pragmatism that enables positive, transformative change to occur.
