Many cities face difficulties—from funding issues to "bikelash"—when developing bike networks and facilities. Working at Alta has given me a new appreciation for infrastructure that makes it possible to commute and explore the city by bike. As a bicyclist, I would consider myself as part of the "Enthused & Confident" group in Roger Geller’s four types of cyclists. Chicago is a great city for cycling, but you have to be both strong and fearless to feel confident biking on most of the streets here. I hope to see more complete and safe bike networks implemented across the country, and I'm proud to be part of a company that is leading the way to make this happen.
