Alta was the lead landscape architect and mobility specialist for the Bridgeport Streetscape Design Build Contract.

Working with the City of Bridgeport, Black Rock neighborhood, and prime contractor G. Pic & Sons, Alta designed a pocket park at the intersection of Brewster and Fairfield Streets. The original intersection was excessively wide causing a confusion traffic patterns and unsafe conditions for people walking, playing, and driving in the neighborhood. It was considered one of the most dangerous intersections in Black Rock. By realigning the roadway and capturing an 4,800 sf piece of excess asphalt, Alta transformed the pavement into a community amenity that captures and cleans stormwater from the intersection, improves pedestrian connections, and makes clearer traffic patterns. The park features a nautical theme with flag pole and plaza with pavers that replicate wood slats. The team for this project included Diversified Technology Consultants Engineers and Cabezas DeAngalis.
