Go Albany Park was a community-based TDM campaign aimed at helping residents of the diverse Albany Park neighborhood in Chicago walk, bike, and use transit more often.

Alta Planning + Design managed this campaign, reaching 7,500 households in 2015. Alta hired bilingual outreach ambassadors from the neighborhood to conduct meaningful one-on-one outreach, plan locally appropriate events, and serve as the face of the program. All program materials were offered in Spanish and key resources, such as the neighborhood map and transportation resource guides, were translated into five additional languages. Events highlighted the diversity of the neighborhood, such as a world-flag-themed bike ride and walks to local ethnic food markets and paleterías (ice cream shops).

Bilingual outreach ambassadors and materials; key resources offered in seven languages; inclusive program logo incorporating seven primary languages; robust stakeholder engagement and partnership, including outreach and events with diverse community groups; events celebrating the culturally diverse neighborhood; Facebook, Twitter, MailChimp, digital and print flyering, face-to-face and grassroots social networking tools employed.

The Go Programs have reached five neighborhoods including Bronzeville, Pilsen, EdgewaterAlbany Park, and Garfield Park residents with direct mail, print resources, community outreach and events.
