We develop tools, resources, and best practices to help all Alta disciplines meaningfully integrate health and equity into their project work.

Health means a person has complete physical, mental, and social well-being. At Alta, we advance health through planning, landscape architecture, engineering, and education/encouragement programs that create safe and active communities.

Equity means everyone has what they need to thrive. We advance equity by meaningfully engaging with community stakeholders, including those who are typically difficult to reach, and helping to allocate resources and opportunities for lower income communities and communities of color who have historically experienced disinvestment.

Health Equity means all people have full access to opportunities that enable them to lead healthy lives. We advance health equity by promoting social, economic, and environmental conditions that enable people to safely walk and bike in their communities, helping them to achieve optimal physical and mental health and well-being regardless of gender, race/ethnicity, age, geographic location, socioeconomic status, ability, and sexual orientation.

Health/Equity Analyses:
We use data not to minimize, but to bring light to and empower those who are neglected in the planning and engineering process. Our team works closely with Civic Analytics to qualify and quantify the positive impact of increased transportation options on health and improved mobility across communities.

Health, Equity, and the Environment:
We identify, develop, and build solutions that envision a cleaner and healthier future for all.

Engineering and Design:
Alta’s engineers design for all to carry safe and healthy lives.
